Hello to you all .
My names are Emily Okumu,I was raised but my aunt when both my parents perished in a grisly road accident while rushing me to hospital when I was 3 months old. I schooled upto secondary where I sat my KCSE and passed well. I was not however able to join collegedue to lack of finance.
i joined Yombele youth group where I learnt about poultry farming. I got intrested very much but I did not have money to start, I took a loan of $50 from the group and bought 30 chicks, the mortality rate was high and I lost 26 chicks, I dint give up but learn some lessons. I later added another 30 chicks and these time round I was lucky as only one died. I am now proud of 150 birds and happy the business is growing.
I am loving and caring, I love reading novel, watching documentaries and listening to gospel music during my free time.
I am a small scale poultry bad with big dreams of becoming a large scale poultry farmer in future. I currently provide fertilized eggs and poultry for sale.
there is high demand for organic poultry and poultry products,I sell my eggs to a hatchery and birds to a hotel ,I rarely meet the demand as the demand is very high.
I choose these business after receiving training in poultry keeping from my youth group,I felt it could change my life and that's why I decided to try my hand on it.
I spend $100 per month on feeds and vaccinations and my monthly income is $280 ..
I use the profits to save for business expansion, buy my basic needs and pay fees for my niece.
I am very and happy to have an opportunity to borrow from these community,I am looking forward to expanding my business even more. I am requesting for $150 to buy 80 chicks at $1 per chick. i would then spend $30 on feeds. These will boost my income tremendously, thank you.
