My name is Joseph Mbugua Kamau. I am 38 years ,married and has two children ,a boy and a girl.I completed the secondary level of education in the year 1993. unfortunately I could not continue to college due to family financial constraints.I started working as a Matatu tout (conductor), a job that I did for six years . I later got a job at Kenya electricity generating company (KENGEN) with a contractor who was drilling steam wells for the company. After working for almost three years , I was involved in an accident when in action and inhaled poisonous gasses. Upon recovery I was dismissed and compensated. With the money I got I started a hotel business and later changed to a pub/ bar and butchery business that I do up to date.
My business involves buying liquor (beer) from the producers deport in my locality stocking in my pub and selling as a retailer. I also have butchery in an adjoining room where we sell meat to our customers .Currently I have three assistants including my wife .
On an average day I buy and sell about 10 crates of different drinks. I also sell about 30 kilograms of meat. When I pay my assistants and other running costs, I make a profit of KES 1500 per day. This I use to run my family and other investments.
With the money that I have saved and the loan from ZIDISHA, I intend to install a DSTV system in the business premise. This will automatically increase my sales since it will attract more customers.
when i secure the credit, i intend to combine this with my savings and install a Dstv sytem at my business premise.the market price of the decoder, dish and installation is about kes 13000.from this investment, i will increase my customer base and so also the profit will increase especially this season due to the premier leage matches as well as the world cup later this year.i look foward to your support
