About Me

My name is Charles Kagera,a young, talented and innovative entrepreneur. I graduated last year with a diploma in Procurement. Getting employment was not easy so I decided to patent an invention I had and with a team of 35 friends we intend to create self employment
by launching the patented invention as a new product in the market. In
doing so I would really appreciate getting funds to finance the website, incorporating a limited company and office premises. The investors I have approached requested I fulfill the said requirements so they can buy stakes into the start up company.

My Business

We are a start up company that intends to launch two new market changing products. The company is composed of young, innovative and zealous youths who wish to be future entrepreneurs. When we are not working on the project we do operate individual medium businesses. For me I operate a phone repair and accessories shop that helps to finance the project's progress. The product is a motivational booklet meant for candidates
sitting their final exams. In a broader perspective the booklets have at least 12 cards
that members contribute their motivational and success wishes and messages
on. Normally we send success cards individually but in this invention, the
cost of purchasing and sending the individual cards is projected towards
creating a motivation gift to the candidate. The invention not only covers the success cards, it can also be used in making graduation, birthday, wedding, farewell and get well cards booklets. The booklet is creatively crafted and structured such that there is a section that companies can advertise on. The target companies are those that offer products and services needed or used by students.
In launching the booklet in the market we are to work with a group of ninety (90) sales persons positioned in various regions in Kenya. We also have a group of thirty (30) agents within our network. In our business plan we are targeting a total sale of 20% of the candidates’ population of 1,000,000. This translated to a sale of at least 200,000 booklets. Once we get our website active and incorporate the company the investors should release the funds for production, transport and day to day running of the company.
Since the booklets are seasonal products we also have another innovative product to sell on daily basis. The product is a cheaper and preferable option for soft drinks take away.
Our plan begins with a two month start-up period during which we will focus primarily on setting up our offices and developing a network of sales agents, but also including significant initial marketing strategies. Our start-up expenses for the first months will be used for payments to outsourced publishers who have provided us with price friendly quotations, legal costs, payroll, marketing and typical expenses associated with finding partners to advertise on our booklets.

Loan Proposal

Once I get the loan requested the funds shall be used to create our website ($294) ,incorporate a limited company ($235) and establish a medium sized office premises$600). This should help convince the willing investors to release the funds they intend to invest by buying stakes into our company. With the company established it will also be easy to convince companies and institutions to advertise on our product.
