Am Bramuel Masinde mukambi, I went to kangumo primary school and attained c + in my final Kenya certificate of primary education, This grades passed me to Kisumu boys high school were i studied for four years and attained Grade b+ in my final exams, Unfortunately i did not further my education despite getting a chance to join Nairobi university because my father in law could not raise money for school fees.
I tried to get sponsorship but my efforts were in vain, for two years i was confused and felt hopeless not knowing what to do.
I had to go for counseling sessions that helped me to Move on and finally i settled for farming.
The skills i had acquired from doing agriculture in my high school helped me transform my fathers land and made it productive, I plant maize and kale's for commercial purposes.
Farming is important and indeed it has profit when done professionally.
My hobbies are swimming, traveling, singing and dancing.
I plant Maize and kale's on a two Acre piece of family land, one Acre is mine and the other is for my parents we work hand in hand to see that every year we make some profit out of these land,
Am the manager in-charge of all farming activities, my father in law is the one who provides money for inputs, farm preparations and harvesting, I deal with ensuring the land is clean and plantation to harvesting process am the man in the ground here and i like farming.
I spend 15,000 Kenya shillings on expenses and after harvesting i make a total income of 48,000 Kenya shillings my profit is an average of 30,000 Kenya shillings this is after 6 months of plantation to harvesting, What sustains us is the sale of kale's that happens daily and provide small amount of money that we use for daily expenses and buying materials that are needed in the farm.
Granted the loan of 160 us dollars i will buy a water tank at 150 us dollars, ppr water pipes and a Tap all at 10 us dollars.
Some times water becomes a problem in farming and we have to go for long distance to get water to sprinkle on kale's that were planted. This challenge leads to drying of kale stems leading to low production of kale's, We want to have a water storage facility in the farm so that we can be able to maximize our production.
I have decided to put my repayment amount 5 us dollars per week because am sure i will be making 3 us dollars per day from kale's only, i will save 1 us dollars per day accumulating to 5 us dollars a week, for loan repayment and 2 us dollar will continue to cater for farming act-ivies like transportation, and paying of helpers.
