I am a very hard working Zambian lady aged 35, divorced with one daughter aged 12, it is really painful living a lonely and hard life. I grew up in a very difficult life style and environment, totally without education - life was very difficult until ignorantly got impregnated at a very tender aged, and life was not easily attained. And I was married to another man. The family life became difficult - without financial support from the husband, I had to start a business selling vegetables for me to take my child to school from grade 1 to grade 6 now. Life became difficult for me and my child, had it been not for the small business i have been doing, I don't know how life would have been.
I like listening to gospel music for encouragement and exhortation.
I was inspired to start business by my auntie who is a successful business woman. I started business after was faced with difficulties in paying my daughters school fees. I started at a small scale selling vegetables and cooking oil, and from this business I managed to pay my daughter's school fees and sustain my family. My business is steadily growing from selling vegetables; After Zidisha has funded my second loan I managed to expand my business- I opened a restaurant in the city main market. It is a very busy trading place. And food is always on high demand.
With my third loan I want to boost my my vegetable and restaurant business.
The Budget for the boost of a restaurant and vegetale business is as follows:
1. Restaurant furniture @ $120
2. Cooking utensils @ $100
3. Vegetables @ $50
4. Transport @ $30
This business will bring in more profit on a daily basis due to high demand of food in our newly declared city. I am expecting 55% increase in profits. And this business will greatly help me continue sending my only child to school and sustain my family which is constantly visited by extended family members.
If I am funded by Zidisha, which I hope it shall be so, I will use this loan to expand my business to start selling fried potato chips, pieces of fried chicken and sausages which will cost me $160 plus transport. This loan will help me send my only child to school and expand my business. My profit will increase by 60%.
