My name is Judith Mutombo and the first born from the family of 4. Being 3 girls and 1 boy. I grew up with both parents. I went to Kabulonga Girls Secondary and I obtained division one grade 12 school final results. Currently, I have applied for the school of medicine at the University of Zambia and I have been successfully accepted to enroll this year for the first semester in November. Am also an entrepreneurship, I ran my own business which is helping me to raise funds to be paying for accommodation at the University of Zambia. I started my business through an inspiration from my mother who was a baker. Am looking forward as well to perfect the art of baking as I get empowerment through Zidisha today. Coming to our cultural norm we celebrate the Mutomboko ceremony which is also has become a tourist attraction in Luapula province. I love baking, cooking, swimming and dancing as my hobby.
Am involved in the business of baking, I make cup cakes, corns, meat pies, wedding cakes, birthday cakes and chicken shawarmas. I sell these in different shop and in school tuck shops where school going children buy for their meals during lunch hours and break time. The goods are very much useful for the public because they are highly consumable every hour and every minute. I choose this business because it gives me good profits which I use to buy the raw materials such as flour and other ingredients help make goods taste well for the customers to buy and call again for orders especially I schools where the market is good and attractive.
The profits realized mainly, I save for my education and reinvestments in growing the business and also helping my siblings to pay for their school fee and home improvements.
Well, am here requesting for funds to buy the baking essential ingredients and these are;
1. Flour
2. Sugar, honey, molasses, white sugar, brown sugar, powered sugar.
3. Salt
4. Milk
5. Fats, oils & flavorings and spices.
These essential ingredients will benefit me by making baking good taste and nice to attract more customers and generate good income. The income generated will be used to pay for tuition school fees for bachelors degree in the school of medicine at the University of Zambia this in November.
