I am a social worker at a local NGO (non goverment organisation) in Indonesia. I currently work with minority groups such as women with disability including women victims of violence in rural areas. For 5 (five) years my focus of work and service is in the field of rural economic development. For this year (2017) my current work is related to rural economic development and income generation for women with disabilities, women victim of violence and young mother
Agribusiness is an activity related to the agricultural sector in a broad sense such as domestic resources such as agriculture, plantation, forestry, animal husbandry and fisheries. One area of agribusiness that has good development prospects in rural areas / mountains is the cultivation of organic papaya business. Because market demand is still large, investment payback time is fast, the price is relatively stable, and harvest continuously throughout the year. The market opportunity is still wide open, because supply in the market today is still lacking. Lack of access to credit for women in rural areas can be a serious obstacle to the creation of local businesses in many rural areas of Indonesia. Microfinance of SMEs and support for social entrepreneurship is a proven and proven tool that can contribute to high levels of quality and employment, reducing disparities and poverty; and thus contribute to the realization of priorities. This is my project, specifically to help a mother who lives in rural village of Gudeg a remote area of province in Central Java Indonesia. Ibu Sartini lives in the Merbabu mountains. Ibu Sartini has a small business /small business of organic papaya seedling in a garden of 1/2 hectare which is a land grant from local government. This local papaya breeding, managed by 2 (two) children who have experienced in papaya seed cultivation since 2000. Local papaya seedlings are only using organic fertilizer and only sold through traditional markets. Currently, Mrs. Sartini needs loan capital to strengthen the supply sector of organic fertilizer. Through Zidisha, on behalf of Mrs. Sartini, I submission for a loan to strengthen the capital of organic papaya business. Limited Internet access for poor women in rural areas, thus not allowing rural poor women to access Zidisha, therefore through that, I am on behalf of and fully responsible for this loan.
This loan will be used for the purchase and stock of liquid organic fertilizer for a duration of 2 (two) weeks. This liquid organic fertilizer is suitable for the fertilization of local papaya seedlings, organic fertilizers derived from plant extracts, liquid fermentation liquid livestock, and fermentation of plants. Organic fertilizer has complete nutrient content so it is suitable for local papaya cultivation. Net income in this business is about 10-23% of the total loan that will be submitted to Zidisha. We hope Zidisha can provides loans for the empowerment of women farmers in Indonesia. Hopefully this loan proposal will soon be approved by Zidisha lenders. Thank you.
