My name is Joyce Sekyewaa from Achimota - Ghana. I am a self-employed graduate from University of Ghana, Legon. I studied Marketing and graduated with Second Class Upper Division and the best Graduating Marketing Student.
With the knowledge I acquired in Marketing, I decided to start a cosmetic business right after my National Service. The start-up capital for this business came from savings through the national service allowance.
I operate a cosmetic shop owned by myself at Achimota in Accra. I sell perfumes, pomades and creams of different kinds for both hair and body.
The demand on these products is very high because, I sometimes take samples to banks and other corporate environments; and so the products receive high recommendations.
I started the business for just about two years now so major portion of the profits are used to develop the shop and expand the business.
As part of the benefits recouped from my previous loan, I have made some savings which I have used to purchase new stocks/inventories but I unfortunately ran out of cash to pay for transport and carriages.
With meekness, I write to apply for a loan of GHS80.00 USD 19.00) to transport my goods (perfumes) from Accra Central to Achimota (where my shop is located).
