Between me and my wife we have four children , both my wife and i we are from magada village in vihiga constituency, this is where i grew up as a boy, back in those days growing up in the village , i didn't have access to information, my parents passed on while i was very young, i was about 9 years, my brothers and sisters and i we were raised by my uncle and we couldn't have priority over his children,my siblings and i we repeated one class twice because we were being offered help, and as beggars we couldn't refuse otherwise we would end up in the streets, i only finished class 7 while at my uncle's, after this i joined the workforce as a handy man, after i got married my wife and decided to venture in farming and retailing our harvest, this has given me and my children pride.
My business is purely in the farming category i grow and retail my kunde, managu, terere , sagheti, sweet potatoes, cassava, yarns, i grow them and after we harvest we retail them we have to transport them to the kangemi market. i am in the process of grooming my children to also have knowledge of business, i make 1000 kshs on a daily basis as a flat rate, on a good day i make up to 5000 kshs, depending on the variety and the supply. My profits take care of my children fees, basic needs, maintain my farm by purchasing manure, paying rent of my kiosk.
The loan will go to the purchase of 10 tonnes of manure this will cost 15,000 kshs, this is to enable my land regain its fertility level, i am an organic farmer i believe in practicing farming that will conserve the environment, 3000 kshs will go towards the soil sampling charges once i have finished conserving my farm i want the soil to be tested, so that i am sure that my harvests will not be affected because of the soil,After this i know i will have secured my business, my family and the clients that i have i will give them a quality product that is nutritious,
