About Me

I am Yusuf Bravin Bwire Odima.I am the first born of four.I did my 0 level in the year 2005 and couldn't proceed further because my mother who raised us single widow was not able to offer me college fee.

Getting job with that level of education was not possible, especially for unskilled people like me.So i started casual job as farm help to the villagers and earn as little as $1 per day to support my mother and younger siblings.

As you know farm jobs are seasonal,it was hard to corp when there was no job because my family depended on me.When i had no job i started visiting slougher house and help slougher cattles. From that service i was given cattle's heads and feets of which i sold to get money.

After a while i open a place where i boil cattle's heads and feets to make soup and delicious meat which is love by people around here because it's very cheap. From this little earning i saved till i open a butchery with 20kg of meat.

My Business

Yusuf is a burcher in Funyula shoping centre. My burchery sell cattle meat, soup, heads, feets and 'mutura'.When i sloughter a cow in a week, quater is taken to my butchery and the remaining 3 quater is taken to other butcheries.Other products like indestine i use to sell as 'matumbo' and others use to make 'mutura',Head and feet i boil to make soup.

A cow costing $300 can give you a return of $70 when successfully sold.Currently the challege am facing is lack of refrigiration.During low sales period a refrigirator is required to store the meat.Where i store i do always take my meat to store i am charged ksh5 per kg which is relatively costy and i hope one day Zidisha will loan me to buy one refrigirater.

Loan Proposal

Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity to post another loan. Now this is how i am going to use the loan in my business:-

$120 i will add to purchase a cow for sloughter.Buying on cash is relatively cheaper than buying on credit. Now i will be able to save 5% of buying price. Also i will be increasing my revenue by 30% allowing me to make a profit of ksh 3000 per week.

$250 i will use to buy pot for making soup.Soup is much profitable because you spend less in making but earn more on sale.Soup will be giving me atleast ksh 1500 per week.

$5 i will use to buy dustcoat. This will improve my business hygine hence more customers will be attracted that will lead to more profit.
