My name is Josphat Karuga Njoroge. I am a second born in a family of six children. I live with my family: father, mother and other siblings in Mugaa village. My education is up to secondary school where i completed form 4. i do business of selling grass for cattle in form of bales of hay. what happens is that i buy fields of grass locally and i hire people to cut grass which i pay the 3 shillings per kilogram and the i sell it at a profit. I was taught this business by my brother who do this business in large scale. i get good profit which depends on the amount of dry grass i have. i support my father when he is in need for example to pay some of school fees while i buy my important things such as furniture and clothings and i save some. I usually move where grass is so i am not only based in Mugaa at times.
My business involves cutting grass and selling it in form of bales of hay. my first client is my brother who started this business several years ago. This business is good because cattles will never stop eating grass and that is what motivates us who are in this business. for example, currently there is huge demand for hay due to lack of rains during april in kenya. I pay local people especially IDPs (internally displaced people) who were moved to our place to cut grass which i buy in kilograms. I pay 3 shilings per one kilogram and then for the rolling machine to make and buy hay bales each at 45 shillings. I get good profit for example in April I bought 4350 kiolgrams of hay at 13050 and sold it and i got 10000 in profit. the challenge is to move and buy large tracts of grass because the seller demands you buy more than you can afford. A zidisha loan will really help me to buy large amounts of grass to sell at a larger profit.
Am josphat karuga njoroge applying for loan of ksh 32,481.The money will enable me to meet all my financial obligations and open up two more working sites for purchasing grass.
The loan will have great benefit on my life and economy as I will be in a position to improve my life and also it will help create employment to my local people.
This time round I expect my profit to increase upto 50%
loan will be repaid using the continuing net profit weekly at installments of ksh 1000.
My market plans is to go beyong my local vicinity and approach all zero grazing farmers to be potential customers.
Granting me the loan will be very prudent.I will appreciate.
