I was born in kisumu county. i spent my time in Nyahera, which is a village in kisumu. After high school i got married in siaya county where i stay currently in a village called Kobare. i have been farming since I was young. however, i have never found the opportunity venture in commercial farming due to limited funds. In most cases my farming has been for subsistence use. Nonetheless, I have not lost hope in the possibility of venturing in commercial farming.
My business has mainly been small scale farming where at times i do sell my crops when i need some cash. however, i still consider it subsistence farming because little input is utilized in the farms. moreover, the outcome is usually used at home except for a few sales here and there to help meet my needs. However, Zidisha funding will enable me to increase cash crop production, especially maize and vegetables which are in demand here, i will be able to increase my produce and hence stat commercial farming. my farm included crops such as maize, and beans as well as peanuts. if i increase my input then i believe i will realize more profit from the farm. thanks.
Firstly, may I thank Zidisha and Lenders for helping me to reach this far, I am very grateful. I just finished harvesting my grains, i am now planning for another season, I'd like to buy seeds of maize, beans and groundnuts, I'd also like to buy fertilizers and compost manure, I'd also like to employ labor to help me prepare the land for the new season, all these would cost me $1000, please kindly assist me to work on this next project, thanks.
