About Me

Hi partners, I am Christopher Kayando, married and aged 29 years with two children. I dropped out of school in form three due to lack of school fees.
My ancestral home is Siaya county but I was born and brought up in Eldoret and this where I got married to my wife Jane William who comes from Western part of Kenya.

I have tried several odd jobs like making and selling mandazi’s. buying and selling second hand clothes which later also became very expensive and II had to stop. It was after this that I ventured into poultry farming which was introduced to me by a friend.

My Business

After my friend shared with me about poultry farming I decided to venture into it because of its viability. The demand for white meat and local eggs is very high that what I am producing is still not enough to meet the demand.

The main challenges in the industry, is high cost of medicine and the feeds for the birds. They have several diseases that need treatment of all kinds for them to survive and be able to reach the market.
My typical monthly cost of running the business is $220, while gross income before expenses is usually approximately $450. If I get the loan, I will be able to buy more birds and also get medicine and feeds for the birds.

I supply eggs and local chicken in the surroundings. The demand is always there as I had mentioned earlier because of the demand for white meat.

from the proceeds, I will pay tithe of 10% to the Church, re- invest 50% in the business, use at least 10% to assist my aging parents , 20% for personal use and then 10% to service the loan.

I am excited to know that at least we have a micro-finance that is there to assist the struggling entrepreneur like to acquire loan and boost my business.

Thanks in advance for funding my loan to enable be able to meet my ends and also take two children to school.

Loan Proposal

Dear lenders,
If this loan application is full funded then, I will be able to buy 50 more chicks which are sold at 100KES each that is coming to a total of US$50 and then use the remaining US$ 20 to buy medicine and the other US$30 to buy feeds. This comes to a total of about US$100.

This will increase my yields and also my profit. Apart from that I will be to satisfy my customers for they will get more eggs from my farm. This will save their time and money of traveling far to look for eggs which at the moment are being imported from Uganda.

Furthermore, the eggs I sell are local once that is to say I use locally manufactured feeds for them. This are very nutritious are people really want to use them.

I expect my interest to go up by at least US$30.

Thanks in advance for you kind consideration.
