About Me

My name is jane kajuju from meru county. am a single mum of one daughter. I work on a contract basis with American University Abroad kenya exchange program as a meru county representative. Besides i do business in clothing both new brand and second hand clothing also i have a small consumer shop at home katheri which i run myself since am near.the one for clothes i have someone who runs it as i send the commodities and i visit the place at least twice a month, The business is based in Mikinduri market 30kilometers from Meru town. I chose the place due to rapid economic growth, good infrastructure, a little bit secure and a conducive business environment the inhabitants are welcoming and friendly.
I have a diploma in social work from a recognized institution. i started the business because i needed extra income to cater for my needs.
Currently the business is able to cater for itself, fund my small scale farm which is located at mikinduri area, it caters for two rental houses that is my employee residence and business premises. it also caters for our basic needs and pays fees for my daughter

My Business

the business is capable of repaying the loan because its doing well, it keeps improving as time goes and i have not experienced any loses for the last four years. currently these are some of the running cost and expenditures from the business
1. rent both for residential and business premises-150 us dollars per month
2. basic needs-200 dollars per month
3.school fees-200 dollars per term equivalent to three months
Other sources of income i get from the small scale farm
the goods as i said earlier are new and second hand clothes and shoes. i get them from Nairobi to the business place at mikinduri. i chose both the new and second hand in order to meet the needs of all customers irrespective of their social status.
my business is profitable because i stock a variety which is affordable to all my clients. i excel in the competition because i chose what is trending latest in the market, i have goods of high quality and at affordable price.i have not incurred any risk so far but the most common is fire and theft.
i shall use the loan to invest in my business by opening up more branches in different parts in Kenya.
about my small consumer shop which i run at home i will post its picture here its very new and that's why i need to run it on myself so that i may get to understand how its doing, the capital i started it with was from my small scale farming at home.so far the shop is doing good, which am planing to add the stock once i get this funds from zidisha this being my second loan.

Loan Proposal

since i have started a new food retail shop,i will add the stock in it and share some other amount to my clothing business .currently the farming is able to maintain itself.
the reason for having a few small businesses is due to the demand of such business in those specific areas and the labor is quiet cheap,
after doing my daily duties am always able to monitor those other business by either calling the employee in the clothing business every evening we discuss the day's whereabouts since she is my little sister i do trust her with the business

And it's the last day she left home to the hospital for her death.
The family has tasted cancer strain and and bills so my siblings were crying for me while I was live since no one could convince them that I could make it back again to life.

This the reason I had to give up to death, this is my sister who was taking care for me,this photo she was in India for treatment and in a span of 4 year she died weighing nothing.
Will post it as well for you to see cos when I see her photos I cry and thank God for saving from the grave.

Despite the smile I was in so much pain but that is in the past by faith.
    Psalm 118:17-18 tell's me this I qoute,
" I will not die but live and proclaim what the Lord has done.
The Lord has chastened me severely but he has not given me over to death."
    End of qoute

Dear lender first and for most am very sorry for the years I went silent and stopped paying for the loans.
It still hurts me in my heart since I desired to grow my loan limit to millions with Zidisha but life never goes as per our plans sometimes.

For the last seven years now have suffered pain in my lower abdomen after the operation in 2013, I visited different hospitals and nothing was being found.
In 2017 my sister who had been taking care for me while I was in that situation died of stomach cancer and my life and that of my daughter got stumbled more as we had to look for another place to go and settle.
I went back home where I was born and started life from zero still suffering pain.
My dad was a old man and he died 2018 November I stayed with him at least one year but he never knew that I was sick since he had lost his memory.
During his burial arrangements that's when my other siblings noticed the pain I was having and given that I used to stay indoors they agreed to see how they can help me after after my Dad's burial.
They took me to different hospitals as well and finally I went through MRI scan, the results came out that I had cancer at the pelvic and was already at stage four.
Every time when my mentor was calling I used to be in the hospital.
Finally I was referred for palliative care for pain killers and counseling.
After having been introduced to Mophine I noticed that I have few months to live since I remained bedridden, could not eat neither stand to take shower and I surrendered my life to death.

Many church members and friends were coming to bid me goodbye until one day a lady who is a friend and a born again Christian came and asked me, I quote"my sister, are you sure that you have given up your life to death?"end of quote.
I told her yes since have suffered pain for many years now and it's better I go and rest with our Lord.
She told me no,your time is not yet over in the world, fight for your life in the name of Jesus and his blood.
I was too weak to do all that but her and other born again friends took a step of faith on my behave, prayed and fasted for my sake and one day she came and took me to the church where I was prayed for and went through deliverance and that pain went away.
Now am not taking any medication only eating healthy to restore my body and the blood since am so very weak.

I believe soon I will get back to my business and start paying my loan and serving the lord God of Israel who has taken me from the grave.

Hi Jane - good decision to reduce your payments if things are not going well with the business. I also think is a good idea to move into a different line of business, if you can see a gap in the market. Sorry that you have been struggling to keep the food store running at a reasonable profit, but I am sure you have the drive and determination to make the new venture work to your advantage. Good luck with getting it all set up and running well. Please keep us all updated on your progress. All best wishes ... Bez

    Dear Jane,

Thank you for the message and informing us of your situation.

We believe that regular on-time repayments, no matter how small, are important to preserving a relationship of trust with lenders and our community. For this reason, we do not offer the option to delay payments. Instead, we request that you temporarily reduce your installment to an amount you can afford to pay right now, and go ahead and make that small payment. You may then increase your installment again when you are able.

To reduce your installment amount, please log into your Zidisha account and click on "Adjust Installment Amount," and follow the instructions there.

Please let us know if you have any problems,

    The Zidisha Team

Thank you Erin for your comment,I had rescheduled the loan which I hope it will take short time for me to settle.
Have decided to change my line of business from food store to textiles, despite that it requires a huge capital it gives back a good return and for I need to think big to at least so that I can be able to have a business which can cater for my daughter in future

For the food store many people around have started the same leading to low returns, so I need to think something deferent and in a big and busy place for textiles, therefore having gone through some personal issues and a poor income from my food store I decided to change the business.

Thanks sunnyB,my friend did get help from the court instead he was told to exit by 28th,which is today, bad part of it is that he had all his property stolen and the air and ticket had expired yet there is no new Zealand embassy in Kenya, the nearest embassy is in south Africa, now my Four friends and I had a meeting yesterday and raised the ticket money for him to south Africa where he told us that once in south Africa his embassy will help him out.
It was really a stressful moment ,I don't think he will ever miss being in Kenya again.

Education and Healthcare should stay free, worldwide. Too bad the evil greedy politicians are against that. No one should have to pay for Education and Healthcare.

SunnyB am really sorry that it had taken too long to reply to your message my daughter went back to school on 5the of may.
We had a good time with her though was a very busy vacation.
She was doing a film shooting the whole holiday which was meant for a contest but by bad luck her director who is from New Zealand crashed with some government officials and now he is facing some challenges here in Kenya therefore I chose to stand by him like today he was in court of law seeking for the law to give him time and settle the matter.
This as affected my business so much and even the film we did is not yet edited.
