About Me

I am Joshua Musyoka Kyusya, I was 25th May 1988 in Kitui Ikutha, I joined primary school at Mavia Primary school on 1996 up to 2004. After that i joint Form one Ikutha Boys Secondary School. Due to the lack of school was not able to finish but lest in the third year after reaching form three. The I move to Machakos Town and employed at Kenel Petro Station and restaurant as a waiter where I worked for about one year. I joined a college where I took a course of Video Coverage and photography for six months.

My Business

In the year 2009 I joined group of video coverage and photography in Machakos where a gained lot experiences. Then I moved to Nairobi in Utawala in the year 2010 for greener pasture.In Nairobi joined a driving school where I was trained as driver and was employed at a photo studio. I saved enough money and I bought a motor bike and started passenger transport which was very profitable business. I a good day make Ksh 500 per day after paying for all my expenses. I need Zidisha organization to help me access a loan facility so that I may expand my business, My main objective is to go back in video covering and photography after buying all the required equipments

Loan Proposal

Thanks Zidisha team for giving me this opportunity to post my loan, I wish to request from the lender a loan of Ksh 100 which will help me improve my Motor Bike transport Business by buy new spare parts for my school and giving it good service to make the mike more efficient and serve my customers well,I hope you will be more than will to support me.

    Dear lenders,

    Since Mr. Kyusya missed his first scheduled repayment this summer, we have contacted him repeatedly. In September, a local volunteer mentor spoke with Mr. Kyusya about his loan, and reported that he had not managed to make payments due to a long illness and poor business performance.

    Today I spoke with the local community leader who had signed a recommendation in support of Mr. Kyusya's application to join Zidisha. The leader had previously spoken with Mr. Kyusya about his repayments, and promised to contact him yet again and inform us of his situation.

    Hi,

    I’m Naroa Zurutuza, Zidisha’s Client Relationship Manager in Kenya. During one of my visits to current Zidisha clients, I had the pleasure to meet Joshua Kiyusya.

    Joshua is a 25 year old young man that currently lives in a neighbor outside Nairobi called Utawala. One year ago, he used his savings to purchase a motorbike and start working as a motorbike driver.

    However, his passion is photography and video. In fact, he took a digital video and photography class in the past and he also has some working experience in the sector. His dream is to open a photography shop but right now his has no enough money to buy all the machines and equipment necessary for the same.

    His plan is to first expand his motorbike transportation business in order to increase his incomes and then, once he has saved enough money, start his own photography business.

    Joshua got his first Zidisha loan with this purpose. However, sometimes life is not as simple as we desire and his wife that currently lives in Machakos town, got sick and Joshua had to use the money from the loan to pay the hospital fees. Despite the unforeseen expenses, he will still expects to manage to pay back the loan on time (and start expanding his business after) and he is really thankful to have had that money to pay his wife’s medical care.
