Am Julipher Mwangangi a resident of mtwapa and a businesswoman in mtwapa as well. Am a married woman and a mother of three children living with them here in mtwapa. My first child is a boy who is now twelve years and is in class seven in a private school. The second is now in KG1 and the third is still breast feeding.Am a secondary school lever having completed my secondary education in 1996. Since then i tried to work in different companies but the low salary could not help me meet my family needs. As result to this a decided to try another alternative, Business. I first started with eggs business, selling juice, the list is endless. only trying to get the best business that could offer me the best support i needed. I finally came to bodaboda business, this business is good and profitable. I can say this because i started with one motorcycle and i now have two and the business is really doing great! In a month i get ksh 15,000 per one motor cycle. so this means i get an income ksh 30,000 for the two motorcycles. With this amount i buy food for my family , pay rent, pay school fees and other household requirements.
Am a bodaboda operator doing this business in mtwapa and the neighboring villages. As the statics say, mtwapa is a very fast growing town with a high population. this means that we are in a very good business atmosphere as per what is going on as in business. I dont ride myself, i hire to riders who at this moment have been so cooperative. This is a good business depending on the rider who will hire the motorcycle. This is a good business, i get an income of ksh 30,000 per month after all expences. Risks in this business include, when it rains the roads become flooded and this means the repair costs will go high because of the water washing out the grease. With my income i use ksh 3,000 paying rent, ksh 4,000 paying school fees and ksh 5,000 buying food for the family. i also spare ksh 10,000 for major repairs and emergencies. so i save ksh 8,000 per month which i can use to repay my zidisha loan. My objective is to expand the business so as to create jobs to the youths who are jobless in our area. And at the same time increase my income.
Thank you zidisha team for accepting my loan application. This is good news to me as i now get a chance of of improving my business. With this loan i want to buy another motorcycle. With this loan i will buy a second hand motorcycle which i will then repair and then do bodaboda business. with this addition of a motorcycle i will add more income to my business.
