About Me

My name is Hilda chelimo Nyaboke a kisii lady born and raised in Kisii town, Nyaboke from our community means night. I was thus named so because i was born at night. I was born to a family of seven i being the fifth born. I managed to receive education at Ntakoe Primary school and later on joined Nyamira Girls secondary school. During our days you could rarely proceed to the University due to limited resources i thus ended my education at form form level.
I stayed with my parents at home for sometime and i was forced to get married to a certain old man, it was tradition in our place and hence i had no choice. The man i was forced to get married to had three other wife's, i had no option but to move and stay with him. My life at his place was hell of a life time and to me this was the hardest part of my life. He used to mistreat me, beat me up and force me to engage him in conjugal affairs. The cor- wife's also mistreated me so much and used me to do a lot of labour work forcefully. I stayed at his place for two years and enough was enough after getting pregnant i decided to run away back to my home because i could not cope with what i was experiencing at his home.
After sometime, he came to our place demanding that i should go back but with the help of my mother we all refused since i was so much physically assaulted.

What is still find unique in our culture is the primitive practice of forcing young girls to get married to old people. My kid is now in class two and i what him to be a gentleman and a difference to this culture

My Business

I sale eggs from my chicken and at times sale i sale chicken. This goods are useful because with the eggs from my chicken people can get food and also bakery specializing in making cakes can also run their business well. It is on demand because i have managed to get orders from big hotels around kisii town and also orders from bakeries where i supply to them eggs each and every day.
I chose to do this business because at our home the space was big enough to allow me to run this business on the other hand, i took time to study the market and came to find out that few are the people within this region engaging in this business in large scale. I thus thought to myself why should i not start large scale production of eggs.
I use the profits that i make each day to take care of my son, by paying his school fees, clothe him well and make sure he get all the basic needs that he wants. I also use the profits that i make to support my business by investing back into it through buying chicken feeds, buying other chicken and ensuring that there health is well maintained. Starting this new year, i have been making savings with one goal, to buy a motorbike that can help in the supplying of my eggs to the areas where my customers are located

Loan Proposal

I appreciate the loan given which helped me buy the motorbike that i now use for supplies of my eggs. I have witnessed increased demand lately with these bike my market has widened. I wish therefore to construct a store outside my house where i can now be keeping my eggs. I have consulted a good carpenter who has given me a budget of around 60 us dollars. Funded with these loan, i will make to construct the store. I appreciate so much the support always given
