Am the eldest child in a family of three kids and a single mother. we were raised from a poor family but with a very humble background. My two brothers are in high school and i am college graduate with a certificate in food and beverage production.my mother and i have encountered so many challenges towards meeting our day to day needs including the school fees issues and other domestics issues but thanks to the almighty God who has showered our efforts with blessings. I do own a food retail shop that have been operating for almost a year and offwhich i opened it from the little savings that i had from my previous employment.Actually balancing the little income that i do earn with my personal goals and domestic issues that must be met is one of the greatest challenges that is still trying to overcome
My retail shop deals with household stuff and foodstuff that are one of the essentials commodity in human life.Due to the low numbers of shops dealing with that line of business and the dense population in my area whose demand can not be wholly met by the few retail shops provided a good business opportunity to me.Besides the the two reasons mentioned above, also the cost of operating a retail shop is much more cheaper as compared to other types of business and the probability of the business providing a reasonable income is much more higher because i believe human beings cannot survive without essential commodity. In the operation of the business the cost that that operates and sustain it include:rental expenses, electricity expenses, security expenses and other indirect expenses that all totals up to ksh 5000
The good customer base that my shop has earned fully compels me to try a different variety of stock so as to meet the diverse demand of different product by the customers. Besides engaging in household product i intend to introduce cereals as my other line of business. Cereals such as maize, beans and rice are some of the most common food used by the locals with their demand being high. My budget will be as follows; 200US DOLLARS will be used in the purchase of the cereals and the other amount in purchasing of other stock
