I was born in Central region of Kenya in a family of 5 where I am the second born. I was born in a typical rural family and raised by my parents who are small scale farmers. My dad also works as a driver to supplement the family’s income. I later joined local schools for my primary and secondary education.
I later relocated to Mombasa city to live with my uncle. While there I enrolled in a training college where I undertook a course in hairdressing and beauty. I also did a short course in computer operations. I later got a job at a beauty parlor shortly after completing my course. I later quit due to low wages and started my own business.
I am a hardworking person and I believe in leading an honest life. I am a very active member of my church and I am involved in many social activities.
My business entails selling of ladies shoes within Mombasa town. I decided to start this business because I had established a good network of lady friends when I was working in the beauty industry and this gives me a competitive edge over my competitors. I also do it from door to door since I do not have store at the moment.
My net profit averages about $150 but this can go up during the peak period. I am using this business as a stepping stone towards my ultimate goal of opening my own beauty parlor.
I am still doing sales of ladies shoes. Like last year, this is the time that the sales volumes are likely to go up and that is why I have applied for this loan at this time. I am optimistic that I will be able to buy a new stock and sell the same very fast hence making good returns within a short time.
With this money, I will use it to buy shoes and sandals which are popular with the masses.
