About Me

Am a fourth born in a family of six,I only managed up to class 8.I could not procced
With education due to lack of fund.My only remaining option was to get married.furthermore my husband reached a point where he could not work.
So I started my business with a small capital so that I could cater my family needs..I started selling beddings material for a start.
I have 4 children who depends on me since there are still young to care of themselves.

My Business

My business involves selling bedding materials e.g blankets, bedsheets, curtains, and mosquito nets.I choose this kind of a business cause there are used in every home .
I make a profit of between 500-1000 a month.Which I use for my family needs

Loan Proposal

I will use the amount to increase the stock in the shop for
1.Blankets: $20x5=$100
2.bedsheets:$15×5=$75
3.door curtains:$10×5$50
With the above purchase am able to meet my customers need and increase sale. Thus I will be able to make more profit to meet my family needs

No effort to repay in over 5 months. I dislike leaving negative comments but do believe in accountability, without it there would be no Zidisha to make loans.

i called Salome but she did not pick up her phone so i spoke with another family member who told me that Salome was unable to pay because she lost her job but promised to talk to encourage her to continue paying back her loan.

    Hi Salome,
In regards to your question regarding the credit risk fee, it is refundable once you pay off your loan. Regards, Margaret

    Hi Salome,
The credit risk fee is to protect lenders from borrowers who do not pay. This is unfortunately necessary because there are borrowers who make no effort to repay.. Please do not use this as an excuse not to pay. You have had 7 loans from Zidisha and this last one is $250.73 which is a substantial amount, therefore you should make an effort to pay it back. Since you borrowed from Zidisha in the past I am sure you understood this. Lenders put their faith in you to help you, please do not disappoint them all, please make an effort to pay back your loan. You can adjust your payments by logging into your account, lenders understand that business can be unpredictable so they are not offended when you change your schedule, it is important to make small payments rather than none at all.

The credit risk is to cover the loan that you do not repay. As an example you borrowed $250.73, you don't pay it back. Lenders get discouraged because they get $0 returned. Then they stop lending because the idea behind Zidisha is to help people grow their business through loans, not free gifts. If everyone didn't pay there would be no Zidisha. So the credit risk is to prevent this. Please make an effort to repay your loan. You did after all, borrow the money in the first place. Please don't throw away the opportunities that Zidisha can offer, there is no other program like it that is as flexible for a growing business like yours..

          Salome and Margaret,

The credit-risk fees go into a pool of funds in case
*any* borrower defaults. It is not just in case the
particular borrower paying the fee defaults.

The credit-risk fee for any loan taken out as of
16 December 2018 (or later) is no longer refundable.
It is my understanding that this is because of too many
          defaults occurring on the platform.
