My name is Benson Ng'ang'a, am 31 years old, I was in karatina. I have three siblings. I went to school in karatina primary school and attend karatina high school but unfortunately I wasn't able to complete since we lost our parents in a car accident. Me and my siblings didn't have anybody to support us to we had to fend for ourselves, we wouldn't afford to pay for school, so we dropped out of school.
I started doing manual jobs like carrying luggage around the market for people to help us meet our daily needs.
I later moved to Nairobi where I started to to construction jobs, I managed to do savings then I attended a school where I was trained to be a barber. After finishing the training, I got a job at one barber shop, I worked there for a few years and was able to save money to start my own barber shop.
I have a barber shop which I share space with other barbers. I have done this business for the past three years,
In a month am able to make a profit of kes 10000, after settling all my bills. I then use my profit to pay for my house rent and other basic need, I also use some of my savings to support my little sister who went back to school to complete her education.
My goals are to own a a barber shop training school so that I can be able to train people who lack skills that can help them get a living.
To be able to run a barber shop, it's a requirement that I own a sterilizer to disinfect shaving machines, this to ensure we offer healthy and guaranteed services to my customers.
A sterilizer will cost me $75, I will add a balance of $20 to the loan of $55 to be able to buy the equipment.
I hope you keep having faith in me and my business.
Thanks for the support so far.
