my name is Eric Kiogora and hail from Meru county of Kenya.l am 23 years old and cleared secondary education in the year 2012. l was raised up by my grandmother who l love very much.after completing my secondary education l was not able to join college due to lack of school fees but lam very optimistic that in the near future l will enroll into a teachers training college and purse teaching so as to earn a living and give back to the community. l am a farmer as l do help my grandmother with the shamba work and so far l have been able to keep two cows that l am planning to sell towards the end of next year and raise some college fee. l am the first born and do love reading as well as traveling.
l started livestock keeping in the year 2011 by buying two calves that l have from the little savings l had saved after securing a job as petrol station attendant here in meru. my grandmother shared the idea with me and because she is of age and not able to do manual jobs l make sure the animal feeds are ready every morning and do leave my grandmother to feed them. since we don,t have a big shamba l do buy nappier grass. lf my loan application is successful l will use the money to buy another dairy calf so at least l can be selling milk in the near future. besides rearing cows l am also a qualified driver and at times do get temporary jobs as a driver and do use the money to support my grandmother as well as save for the future.
l will use the money to buy dairy calves so that l can resell them at a profit and be able to finance my education because l have realised that without good education l may not be able to achieve my dreams. all the money will used in the buying of the calves that is approximately KES 7OOO per calf.
