About Me

my name is Hellen Bett, i was named so in Nakuru children home. I was born in the streets by a mother who dumped me and i got lucky to be picked by a good Samaritan who took me to the Nakuru children's home.
I was raised in the children's home where i also received my education from. I went to Kilimani Primary school, St Mary's girls secondary school. I was a bright student and i managed to joined Egerton University still in Nakuru for higher education. I really thank God because despite being an orphan he has opened nearly all doors for me.
I am currently in my third year at the university and. My sponsors have done enough for me and i really don't wish to bother them again asking for money for my up keep, i was talented in drawing and this for quite sometime had been my business, i draw people's images and also do painting to earn a living.

My Business

I do drawings, painting and curving for sales. I draw my lectures, fellow students as well as prominent people i Nakuru on orders, other i draw them, take the paint to them and they pay me.
This services are on demand because God gave me a very powerful talent in drawing and my paints are very unique, this increases the demands for my services.
I chose this business because i never wanted to bother my sponsors asking for pocket money because to where i have reached they have really played a big role. I therefore wanted to engage myself in an activity where i can be making money to sustain my living in school.
i use the profits that i get to avail the most basic needs to myself for example food, pay my hostel, clothing and i also manage to send some money to my mother at the children's home for her to take care of the other children there.

Loan Proposal

I have been doing my painting from my hostel and this is limiting many people from knowing my work. Given this loan, i will use the money to lease a shop in Nakuru town where i can be doing my painting from. A shop around here goes for 40 u dollars a month. The loan will help me foot part of that rent.
i will benefit because i will be operating from a place where many people can see my work and this will widen the market for my drawings. Increase in the market will result to increase in my income. I expect a raise in income by 20 us dollars in a good day.
