My name is Boakye Gabriel from Nkawkaw in the Eastern region of Ghana, a few kilometres from the eastern regional capital- Koforidua. My parents are both Ghanaians and hail from the same town. I am the fourth of nine children of my parents who are cocoa farmers. I attended Roman catholic primary and Junior high school in Nkawkaw. I successful passed the basic education certificate examination and got enrolled at the senior high school the same year. At the high school i worked hard to pass my final exams which got me admitted into the university of education -Winneba.
The large family size do not match the earnings of my parents which has negatively impacted on my school performance because sometimes they do not get me most of the things i need to support my academic studies. I sat down with them one evening and declared my intention of setting up a campus business to support them pay my fees and other college expenses and they agreed and provided me with a starting . I am a needy but brilliant student who has defied all odds to make my dreams happen through determination and hardwork. The fact that i am from a less privileged family did not discouraged me from chasing my dreams because I believed in myself. Campus business has really helped me generate much money to cater for all my debts in school.
I sell novels, watches and bags to students on the university of education main campus and the business has contributed immensely towards realising my educational goals. The demand for the novels especially is very high and i make more than enough from sales but still am not able to supply all of them due to financial setbacks. I landed on this business because most students constantly demand different kinds of watches and bags on the university campus. Suppliers of these products are not many so i make enough from sales and the business has gain root. I also sell novels to the reading class. After realizing most peoples like reading as their hobby, i added the novel sales to also reach out to the reading class.
I will buy bags, novels and other materials to resell and generate enough revenue which would be used to pay my educational cost and also to repay the loan on time. I need about 450 dollars to get stock of the bags and other materials so as to resell and get enough revenue to reinvest and pay my school fees. This will increase my profit so that i can get money to procure more goods in future.
