My name is Peter Kipkoech Kirui a resident of Sitoito village in Molo of Nakuru county. l am 29 years of old, married to Daisy Kirui and blessed with one kid.l am the first born in a family of six .
I grew up in the rural Sitoito area where I have a small farm.
Due to financial challenges, I could not study beyond form four and life has not been easy. I do farming full time since 2 and half years ago and has been helping me feed my family.
My hobbies are watching movies and sports during my free time.
I am a farmer and I produce both for home consumption and sale. I emphasize in maize and rish potatoes that do well in our area. The two crops are the staple food for the residents of the region and therefore has a good constant market.
We plant maize twice in a year- the months of February/March and August/September while we plant Irish potaoes three times in a year.
Right now we are preparing to plant maize as soon as the rains set in- normally late February.
We are expecting long rains soon during which we will plant maize and later Irish potatoes in the course of March. January and February have been hard months and I am just from paying school feses for my kid which exhausted me of any savings i had. So right now I am trying to source funds buy the inputs.
I would therefore use the $100 loan on purchasing certified maize seeds and fertilizer.
The loan will enable me to do a timely early planting which will ensure better perfomance.
