About Me

My name is Janet Jerotich -- married with two sons. I am currently 28 years old and the second born in a family of five. I reside with my family at Ogilgei village in Njoro.
I was born in Mauche village but moved to Njoro after I got married and this is where we currently reside.
Due to financial constraints, I could not study beyond form four.
We do farming for our livelihood and it has been good to date.
My hobbies are watching TV, listening to music and adventure.

My Business

We do farming full time and we produce both for home consumption and sale. We cultivate mostly maize and vegetables that do well in our area.
We plant maize once in a year during the month of February/March while the vegetables do well throughout the year.
Farming has sustained us through and now we have plans to do even better by employing better skills and trying new things.

Loan Proposal

As we expect the start of the long rains soon, we plan to plant both maize and kales.
Currently, we depend on selling the vegetable in the field to save up for inputs, which may take time. I have kales in a nursery due for planting.
I would therefore use the $100 loan for purchasing the fertilizer and certified maize seeds for planting as soon as possible.
The loan will enable me to do a timely early planting while saving on time and resources, which in turn will help me maintain and increase profits.
The timely planting will also ensure a better performance of the crops.
The sales from vegetable will enable me repay the loan on time.
