About Me

Hi,
My name is Juliana. I run a salon business and at the same time do small scale farming

I am married with three children who mainly depend on me. I stay in the capital city of Kenya , Nairobi.

Though learned with an undergraduate degree, jobs were not easy to come by. I opted to join the business sector in order to earn a living and to survive. So far I have been able to support my family and raise my children though with difficulty.

But I am not giving up soon. I opted to operate a salon business because I had a talent . I loved plaiting hair ever since I was young. Having learnt that from other older family members who used to do the same. It was an easier business to start as I did not need any training on how to plait and maintain good hair.

I do farming too back upcountry. I
loved farming . It was the main economic activity. It also provided us with food for consumption. There being a high demand for fresh vegetables in the city, I opted to start supplying this precious commodity. So far all has been well. A few difficulties experienced from now and then, but I solder on.

My Business

My income source is my salon business and farming.

I have employed two more people to assist me in running day to day operations at the salon.

I have a small farm where I grow vegetables for sale. I also grow crops for consumption by my family.

Both activities enable me to get some little income to tend to my family needs

Loan Proposal

I intend to use the loan to expand my salon business and farming too.

FARMING

Leasing land (5acres)_ 20 USD per acre totalling 100 USD
Fertilizer _30usd
Labour_30usd

SALON BUSINESS
Increase salon products_50 USD

I believe that both of these businesses will help me better my life, children's and my parents too.

By employing other people to assist me with running these businesses, I am creating employment and helping those people to better their lives.

I expect to make 200usd profit from farming and 150 USD from the salon business
