Greetings! My name is Isaac Baccah and I come from the beautiful west African nation called Ghana. I live in the capital city Accra, and I am an IT professional. I enjoy reading and sports, specifically basketball and football.
I graduated from the University of Ghana in 2018, with a degree in Information Technology, thanks in part to the kindness of the wonderful lenders at Zidisha. After performing my National Service for a year, I have been trying to acquire a good-paying job for the past two years but, although I have been working for a tech company, the job unfortunately doesn't pay the bills. It turns out that most good-paying jobs require certain certifications. The certifications I want to enroll in include the CCNA and Comptia Server+. Thank you so much for this platform and thank you to every one of the lenders at Zidisha.
If my loan proposal is accepted and if it is funded, I would use the loan to help me to acquire accommodation on campus for the second semester of my first year in the I.T. program at the University of Ghana.
Acquiring accommodation on campus would reduce the amount I spend daily on transportation, hence I would be able to save more money from my part-time jobs to help pay my tuition fees.
My parents help me and also help my younger sister with educational costs from income from their small businesses, as much as they can, but it's very difficult for them to meet all of the household expenses and school expenses, too.
Also, transportation costs to the university are getting higher and higher, with the recent increase in fuel prices.
My parents' house is very far from campus and getting a bus to school is very hectic, especially if I do not leave the house early enough. Traffic is worse some days than others. Sometimes, I have to wake up as early as 4:00am and start preparing for school, also because Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays, I have early-morning lectures. This ordeal is extremely tiring, affecting both school and work. Before I report for work at my part-time jobs, I am so very tired. Living on campus would reduce the pressure and tiredness, and I could be more productive.
I really need this loan to help pay for residence-hall fees for on-campus accommodation. Thank you.
