I was born and grew up in Ugenya in Western Kenya in a family of two; me and my sister. My parents were subsistence farmers and were not able to educate us past college level. I moved to Lunga Lunga in search of employment and I got a job with an Export processing company that makes garments for export.
I am a single mother of 2 children whom I am supporting from the earnings I get from the fishmonger business.
I hope to expand my fish business and build a modest home for my family.
I sell fried and dried fish and eggs to people of Lunga Lunga slums.
I started this business in 2013 after I lost my job in the Export Processing company.
My biggest challenge is lack of finances to buy more stock because there is a lot of demand which I am unable to meet due to my limited stock.
My customers are single people and families in the Lunga Lunga estate
I will rent a shop where customers can buy eggs in wholesale and fish which I will dry and fry. By so doing I will be able to serve my customers well and consistently thus making profits hence ability to repay my loan.
