i was born in eldama ravine,in 1960,went to school at solian girls high school.i was born to a family of peasants where we had only one meal a day. i later attended university of nairobi for my bachelors degree. i started my own dairy business after getting a piece of land, and bought 5 cows that produces 30 litres each a day. my past time is volunteering in children's homes and networking.
Where i live the land is very unique that it favors dairy farming highly.
i would loive my children to be what they aspire to be when they come of age
sometimes i like traveling, and seeing new places.go for agricultural extension and symposiums to increase my knowledge on dairy farming.
In the coming year, i am planning to venture into horticulture farming and also
take a post-graduate diploma in agriculture. i would like to help other women in eradicating poverty using farming. i would love to travel to countries with extensive agriculture.like the united states,Germany,Netherlands, Denmark.
i offer dairy business. at the moment i have 8 cows. each cow produces 30 liters of milk a day.that makes it 240 litres a day.1 liter goes for 50/- KES that is half a dollar making 12000kes a day.that is 120usd a day.
my typical costs include purchase of acaricides and deworming drugs
buying dairy feeds and supplements.i also use some funds to pay friends who help
me with the cows
i chose dairy farming as the demand for milk is always high.i use the profit for my business expansion and to pay the workers who help me with the cows,
i have also acquired a parcel of land, where i am planning to start horticulture farming
where i will take my produce to the main market and maybe export them in the near future
With the money given, i am intending to purchase another Borehole Submersible Pump to pump water to the tank belonging to my greenhouse.and domestic use.
i paid for a borehole to be dug for my greenhouse since i am now into horticulture and water is scarce.and now i need an extra one since another borehole was dug
The domestic water pump will cost $230 usd. at the Davis and shirtliff water shop
The pump will bring great benefits to me and the community around.
1-water will always be available to my greenhouse
2- with availability of water, the greenhouse will have high yields of tomatoes.spinach.and kales.
3.The pump is portable hence easy to transport and relocate
4-it has a low maintanance cost hence lasts longer costing less
and The community around will have clean water for use and drinking
The produce i get from the greenhouse,i take them to the market and also sell them to the supermarket at nakuru city. so i expect a profit margin and raise with 60%.
3 tomatoes go for $0.2. usd, and bunch of kales also go 0.2usd, meaning i can get more than 500 usd from the greenhouse.
-i also plan to cultivate cucumbers which fetch a good price at the market.
i hope you find it in your heart to fund my loan so that i acquire the EXTRA water pump soon
