I am Joshua Ochieng Otieno, I was born in 1977 at Ndiru village Kagan East in Rangwe constituency Homa bay county,Nyanza province in the republic of Kenya. I did primary education in 1993,but failed to join secondary due to poor grade. I went to Mawego Technical Institute where I did certificate in building and construction. My dear father died in 1998 leaving nothing valuable for family use. Later I went to Bondo town to look for masonry jobs which I got sufficiently to earn a living to support my mother who had to do some menial duties to provide for the family needs. I got married in the following year, 1998 and God the creator blessed us with four children, a girl and three boys and all of them are going to school. The first born ,a girl is in secondary school form two and the other three children are in primary school. My daughter would prefer to be a nurse, the second one like to become a doctor, the third child would like to be a secondary teacher and the last kid in future would prefer to become a pilot. My home village borders Kisii in the east which contains undulating geographical features which attracts local and foreign tourists. It also receives cool highland breeze from Kisii mountain and has heavy rainfall which is favourable for agricultural activities, livestocks keeping and it also support commercial activities in the Rangwe and its environment. During my free time especially Sunday, I commonly visit the friends, extended family members, participating in communal events and going to church to attend Sunday mass.My hobbies are playing football in the pitch, reading bible, novels, magazines and internet reading of educational and other social sites, watching football premier leagues and singing hymns in the church.
I joined building and construction sector in Bondo town, Siaya county after finishing masonry course at Mawego Technical Training lnstitute in the year 14/11/2000,leaving other family members back at home to fetch for money in the construction field to provide primary and secondary neccesary requirements to the all family. I worked very hard to do more meaningful jobs to gain experience, save more money, share and learn ideas, socialize with other fundis and get some buildings tenders as God Almighty do provide in the field of masonry. With the little savings and other sources of income I earn, this income help to provide food for the nuclear family, extended family members including my lovely mother, some two opharns and very old grandmother. It also helps me to purchase clothes, household wares, and purchasing of drugs for our livestock in the family. It also helps to pay school fees for the four children, two opharns and buying of school requirements for the kids. With this income it aided me build another extra large and big house to replace the old hut which was small as the family was in increasing gradually in number. It settles debts, buying of other secondary needs for the family, pays various bills and meeting some extra expenses for the smooth running of family affairs. In the building and construction sector, in a week i can earn approximately of kshs 9000/= which helps me to settle the above primary and secondary wants. It will also help to service, maintain and buying of some tools and needed materials in masonry
To purchase some masonry equipment and materials for building works like try square costing 200 KES,Masonry hammer costing 450 ,KES,Spade totalling 200 KES,Measuring lines costing 40 KES,Chalks for marking 8 KES.It will increase my income by 50% gradually improving family life standard, food, clothes, school fees, fare and other requirements catered for.It will help me to pay this loan disbursed to me on time.
