I am Mercy Saidi. I was born in the western part of Kenya in the year 1992.I went to Booker Academy for my primary and secondary school studies.I later relocated to Eldoret for my degree studies.I joined Moi university where i pursued a degree in law and opted out after 3 years for a diploma in hotel catering and accomodation due to lack of school fees to complete my law studies. After my studies i was employed for 1 year in the hotel industry. In the year 2016 opted to be self employed and therefore opened a grocery store where i sell and supply fruits and vegetables around Bungoma town. Its a profitable business if well managed and i love how its adding value to my life.
I run a grocery store in Bungoma town.I sell and supply fruits and vegetables. My main customers are hotels and hospitals.I also do door to door deliveries for clients who are not able to reach the store. I make profit of up to 16,000 Kenyan shillings per week.
I want to use the loan to add onto my current profit and purchase inventory for my second grocery store that i have opened.
During this COVID-19 pandemic times, nutritionists have advised that we taken more fruits fruits and vegetables to boost our immunity. The demand for this commodities is high and so has the number of customers.
The kind of business that am doing is one that is on high demand.
Fruits and vegetables are what doctors and nutritionists are advising we consume in plenty so as to boost our immunity. This has made the demand to be high and increase in sales.
The raw materials are readily available since they are grown locally and i dont have to import.
