About Me

I am a Diploma ICT graduate - Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture & Technology -2003 and currently and ICT & Physics teacher.

I run a small 2 Acre farm in Mbooni growing Mangoes & Watermelons to make extra income to support my 3 boys.

Mangoes & Watermelons do very well in this area and have been doing so for the last 3 years and would like to take this venture to the next level and become a solid supplier to the local market and eventually export.

Some of the mango varieties i grow are: Kent, Ngowe, Apple , Tommy Atkins and Boribo. These do very well under the warm climate at Mbooni and attract great demand in the market hence proper profits.

My Business

I sell each mango for $0.1 - 0.2 each which gives me about $197 based on my last sales early this year when i harvested. I would like to expand and plant more trees and add watermelons too.

Having this loan will enable me purchase the much needed pesticides to help increase my yields by approximately 30% of what i have been yielding.

Capital is needed to fund buying of farm implements including a

drip irrigation kit - USD 490
pesticides - USD 200
dam liners - USD 600

Loan Proposal

Purchase of Spray diazinon 60EC plus white oil for the mangoes approx. 10 - 13 USD/Kg.

This Spray will help me control the mango seed weevil that a threat to my mangoes and will help realize better yields.

Hello Samuel, can you get in touch with Zidisha to reduce your payments to a more manageable level? That is better than letting yourself get behind with your payments, which can make it harder to get a future loan.
    God bless you,
    Wendy

The previous loan was not as helpful as i only received KES.900 out of the applied KES.4,000 so i never got to do what i intended but manged to add a few seedlings to the farm - 8 to be precise.

Thank you for the funds availed to me yesterday. I'm happy. However, it was not enough to purchase the pesticides i required but i added 8 more seedlings of Tommy Atkins variety @KES.100 each to my farm.

I strongly believe that in future i will realize greater yields hence increase in my returns from these seedlings once mature.

Hopefully i will apply for another loan to buy the pesticides once i pay this one off!

Thank you once again! God Bless You!
