am the only girl among three boys and also the second born of my parents. i grew up in kumasi with my parents and siblings. my family faced financial constraints while growing up, but my parents did their very best to support us and gave us quality education. they did all kinds of menial jobs as well as petty trading to help overcome this hardship. i had good education notwithstanding, as they supported me through to the polytechnic. am currently seeing myself through the university in order to gain a first degree. i needed to do something to help see myself through school and also to provide for my basic needs as well as help my younger siblings, and that's what led me to start my own small trading. kumasi is a very beautiful city with a very rich historical culture. the exciting history of the Ashanti kingdom is what makes the city very unique in Ghana. i love reading, listening to music and solving puzzles. am a single lady yet to be married and wish to be able to provide for my kids and family in the future.
am currently into petty trading and the kind of goods that i do provide, are generally under wears for both ladies and gents. these goods are useful or in demand as they are an everyday wear or are constantly in use daily. i chose this kind of business because, as at the time deliberating what to do to help provide additional income to help support me, i had on me just a little capital. this kind of business also require minimum capital to begin with so i intended to partake in the selling of these underwears for a start and also most of the people i knew were very willing to patronise my goods. mostly the proceeds or the profits generated are reinvested into the underwear business again since its a new business and would wish for it to grow into a bigger business to help me engage into other consumable goods as well to make my business very productive and help solve my financial needs. however considering the growing trend in the demand for African clothing i have decided to also add the selling of African sandals and slippers. with the introduction of this product, i will be enlarging my business which will go a long way in giving me additional income.
the loan amount will help me to be able to purchase more panties and brassieres. this will enable me to generate more income to help me cater for my family and myself due to some financial crises that we are going through now. am hoping that with the help of the zidisha team i will be able to increase my profit margin. thanks.
