I grew up in Kisumu county, I went to Okago primary school but had to drop out of School due to lack of fees. My parents were poor and they could not afford to educate me beyond primary level, I took a carpentry course but did not have enough money to complete my course, I then traveled to Nakuru to look for work but all was in-vain.
I came to Nairobi where I worked in a hotel as a cook, then later worked in an mechanic garage as an assistant where I gathered enough knowledge then started my own spare parts shop
I own and operate a spare parts shop where i sell spare parts items for vehicle service. I started this business after losing my job at a spare parts shop. My biggest challenge is that of limited resources to grow my business. I have been saving in a chama during table banking by JoyWo and now that they have connected me to kiva zip loans i am the happiest person. I will, use these loans to grow my business. My customers are the mechanics and vehicle owners. The business is good and busy all the time.
My goal is to expand,to get my own items from out of the country so as to cope with the high competition.
I will boost my business by opening a new branch with the loan and buy some few items which will move fast,it will bring a bit of increase and get some profit which will help my family especially now we are approaching school holidays. I will save and repay the loan and later expand my business
