About Me

I am a 3rd year student at the Kenyatta University in Kenya undertaking a bachelors degree in Science. I schooled at Homa Bay highschool where i scored a mingrade of B plain. I spent first ten years of my childhood in a small and beautiful village. My grandfather enrolled my name in the village Primary School when I was five. A school was a totally new concept for me. On its first day I was afraid. My heart was throbbing. But when I found the school to be nice I liked it. Our teacher was very kind and loving to us. He used to tell us stories and teach through them. There my education began. There I learnt 'my first A.B.C. and began a joyful period in my life. Meanwhile my father got a job in the city. We shifted there. I started going the high school. I come from a rural background. So I became a laughing stock for some days at the beginning. But I proved my capacities within some days and caught attention of my teachers.

My Business

I do freelance writing. I do this online from a cyber cafe. Like most aspiring writers I started my entrepreneurial career as a small-time blogger and worked my way up to being a professional writer and financial expert. I’ve since leveraged that into a business that brings in more money than my accounting day job used to.

If you’re thinking of diving into the freelance writing space, or have recently started down that path, this is without a doubt a viable way to make a full-time living.

Since learning how to become a freelance writer, I’ve reached quite a few milestones. Starting a freelance writing career allowed me to follow my dream of being self-employed and also get to pay my university school fees. Make more money and have control over my own schedule.

Truth be told, that’s exactly how I got started — supplementing my income and pay my school fees.

Loan Proposal

I will buy an online freelancing account where i will be getting my income that will facilitate in repaying the loan in full amount. I was naive in the beginning of my self-employed career and thought that my schedule would magically work itself out. WRONG! As a workaholic, I never set boundaries and ended up working all hours of the day and night. Even so much as I drove myself into insomnia (and still struggle with this now).

I would commit to a set schedule for my side hustle and stick to it — i.e. I’m prone to working too much and the whole reason I started writing and changed careers was to spend more time with my family.

I knew that I would need to do the opposite to ramp up my business enough of being able to take it full-time, but I think I stressed myself out more than I needed to by thinking I had to work all of the time. My mind is set to work to get more money to facilitate my basic needs.
