Introduce yourself to lenders.
Am Charles, born in Kakamega and brought up in Kamba land. I went to a nearby primary school and also secondary. I was not able to continue with studies. I later went to Nairobi where I have worked as a carpenter in construction companies for more than 8 years. As a part time job I have employed people to sell milk on retail prize.
Describe your business or income source
Apart from my carpentry skills,
I sell milk on a new device called milk ATM. The cost of packet milk in Kenya is high but ATM milk is cheaper and people are going for it. I use the profit got to pay my rent and soon I will be saving to take driving licence. I want to attend a driving school and obtain a driving permit.
For a long period in my job search career have found my self fixed and having no option rather than dropping the available chance. My highest level of education is high school form four leaver which doesn't give me high chances of employment because of high rate of educated people in Kenya. I could not persue higher education because at the time I schooled we were poverty stricken and a parent only tried his best for his/her kids to finish high school only. I then begun my hustle and attained carpentry skills without going to school. I use this skills up to date and are the one which bring food to the table on daily basis.
I now want to upgrade my skills by registering for a driving school classes. The fees is a bit higher but I need to pay in installments and slowly before joining the school since the classes are just done in a months time if everything is paid and you get your valid driving license. The driving license will help me land good jobs and raise my chances of employability. The full course costs range from Usd$ 80- 190 depending on class you want to study. I would like to study Class BCE at AA Kenya Driving Schools at a cost of KES 17000 plus some hidden costs.
