I come from a humble and Christian background. I went to a local school where I joined from nursery up to O-level. Thereafter I joined a secondary school in the same village, and after I finished I joined college, where I learned about entrepreneurship and business management. This motivated me to be a successful business woman. The place is so populated and has a variety of businesses and handicraft work being done, too. One of my children says she wants to be a nurse and the smallest wants to be an air hostess. I like cooking and just the other day we had a family party and I enjoyed cooking.
I am a business woman: I sell different kinds of things like padlocks, clothes, rubber bands, shoes, and hair additions like weaves. I have been doing this business for more than five years now. I chose this kind of business because it pays better and it helps me cater for all my needs, so I am contacting Zidisha to help me with a loan to add stock to my business. In addition, I use my profits to pay my children's fees and pay my house rent.
I will buy kids' toys @ $1 each. Those are cars and dolls; altogether they will be 20 pieces. I will add M-Pesa float of $50 and ladies' accessories like earrings, lipsticks and mascara all amounting to $30, and I will put $28 to expand my size of the shop.
This will enable customers to increase their sales in my shop because there will be a variety of things to be bought. With the space expanded in the shop, I will be able to add some shelves to display the things I've bought so that they can all fit well. I will be able to advertise my merchandise even on social media so as to get more customers from all over Kenya. This will benefit me in repaying the loan on time and as required. At least my customers will have a variety of things to choose and buy from. I expect my profit to increase by a margin of $20 to $30 in a week.
