My name is Alice Mortey. I was born into a family a family of 5 where we shared the same boundary with poverty. My father was a peasant farmer but became a cripple after he was knocked down by a motorbike at Walewale on his way from the farm. And my mother was a seamstress who always wanted me to be by her whenever she is sewing.
Unfortunately, my two parents were knocked down by a cement trailer was coming from Burkina Faso to Tamale. It happened one day when my mom took my father to the hospital for check. They were rushed to the hospital but they couldn't survive. Hmmmmm.....may their gentle souls rest in peace.
As of the time that this sad incident happened, I was 18years and became a school dropout so I could work and look after my siblings. It hasn't been easy but we thank God Almighty for his mercy.
Before the death of my mom, she had taught me how to sew for both men and women to the extent that, I was perfect in sewing.
So after her demise, I took over her sewing business has since been doing to look after my siblings and other less privileged children in the community.
Typically, the costs I incur are cost of fabrics to sew, thread and needles and rent. But at the moment, don't have materials to sew and displays for people to buy and or bring their materials to be sewn for them.
Finally, the profits from the business are reinvested partly into the business by servicing and maintaining the machine and it is also used to support the needy in the society.
I have wanted to take a loan of USD503.57 (GH¢2,000.00) to buy an electric sewing machine that would enhance my efficiency.
However, as my first loan cannot finance it, I will use the loan to buy 15 yards of fabrics at a total cost of USD18.88 which I would sew and sell, and save for renting a new place for my shop and also buy the new machine.
This will help increase my profit increase by USD12.59 on every shirt and or dress I sew.
Please, Lenders, fund my loan so I can reestablished my business.
Thank you.
