I'm 40 yrs old, married with one child aged 5 yrs,I live with my family in komarock estate in Nairobi.I'm self employed running a small business.Professionally I'm a quality control, production expert with over 10 years experience working in manufacturing firms in namely quality control and production depts.I posses a Diploma cert in Analytical chemistry among others, have gain much uneeded experience and knoledge and thus my passion to start this business as i love what i do
My small earnings currently goes towards operational cost of running my business as well as providing for my family's basic needs which unfortunately is hadly enough. Im a social person who loves nature and outdoor activities,i spend most of my free time with my young family and at times involving myself with community activities,im a fun of football, game drives among others.
My business is called SAFE- CHEM(EA) AGENCIES legal registered by the registra of companies under the laws of KENYA,it is a small school chalk manufacturing business in Kenya, schools, colleges and other learning institutions uses chalk in writing on the walls as they teach, most of the schools tends to go for the most affordable but quality products thus that's how I intend to come in,with my experience in both quality and product formulations I'm able to provide my customers with tailor made high quality and pocket friendly products without ever compromising intergrety and quality of my business. Thus I make them happy besides I'm also providing one one encounter and respond rapidly towards their any need without delays.
There is a vast untapped market upcountry since most of the manufacturing plants are situated in Nairobi and imported, they tend to use middle men or distributors (bookshops) to reach their market which we take advantage of because we take our products the users direct thus shielding them from other overall production overheads.
Biggest risk is reliabily from our customers since most of them believes so much in big players or importers, their attitude towards locally manufactured products of chalks is a bother, but my team and I are working on that.
Total production cost projected at US dollor 7940hat includes machineries, raw materials, labour and other utilities, sales at US dollor 9470 making a profit of US dollor 2030 for the 1st month of operations but which is projected to increase steadily by growth of up to between 5 - 10%.
I seek capital of up to US doller 9800,of which US dollor 4800 will be used to purchase chalk making machine from a supplier in India,US dollor 2600 to purchase additional raw materials n packgings as my business is expanding and demand is increasing and finaly US dollor 540 for transport and other logistics, intend to use earnings from my business to repay any loan given in a period of up to 12 + 1months ,I therefore initially seek US$ 2050 to enable me set up my initial operations such as premises rental and trading licence, and pay initual deposit for the machine, thanx.
As indicated earlier, its this time of the yr that the businesses are picking up,January was abit tough making business to be slow moving, with drought all over so the buying power also decreased but with the rains coming there are prospects of fruits flooding the market and so are my main source of raw materials, mangos are here already and I expect the rest of the varieties to be here also soon,I seek further funding for this reason,to open up the market and with the profits so far realized the funding will help along way! Have already bought a juice blender at Ksh.5700, Juice extractor at Ksh. 9800, now with new sales and profit to come I'm aiming to acquire a refrigerated juice dispencer,it cost like Ksh.120,000. And we will be there soon!
