My name is Mucheru beatrice. I come from africa, in a country called kenya. We have over 42 tribes in total. I am a bantu and come from the kikuyu tribe. We are majorly located in the central part of the country, that is central kenya. We are sorrounded by mountains to some areas, and the climate there allows us to farm and invest in agriculture. My community is mostly known for being business minded, and we try to embrace that mentality. Our staple food is known as githeri and it is largely embraced by the whole country.
I trade in agricultural products such as milk, vegetables, among other things. I use the networks at my rural home and deliver the good s to the city. I also belong to a women self help group where we deal in beads and bead products. We sell them and re-invest the profits or use them to contribute to the members needs. such as school fees, medical needs etc. From the two businesses i make about 1500 to 4500 per week.
I belong to a self help chama. We deal in beads and bead product. We recently had very important clients come to the country on short notice and we did not have enough stock to meet the order. Therefore, all members of the chama decided to seek for different ways to raise funds to save the business reputation. All the money recieved will go to the inventory of the beads to sell to the clients.
