I am a graduate with commerce degree and a 24-year-old Kenyan lady. I was born in a family of four, a setup that has shaped my personality to like working with people and to care for others. I have a strong passion for business and a strong desire to empower women and youth, a dream I believe I will fulfill through my business.
My passion for business can be traced back to as early as high school, when I presented the best business proposal in the Junior Achievement club competition and the divisional level. I am highly environmentally conscious and have taken part in various environmental management programs in various capacities.
Since I was brought up in a male-dominated society, I have also developed a keen interest in empowering the girl child and the less fortunate in the society.
When in my second year in university, I realised there was a serious problem of garbage collection and disposal. This is because waste collection and disposal was then purely the affair of the local authorities. I saw an opportunity in the environment and started a garbage collection and disposal business. The business that started as a clean-up project saw a lot of appreciation, which made me invest more in the business venture.
Currently, the business operates at a cost of USD 700 and generates an after-tax profit of USD 300 on average per month. The business has three full-time employees and 10 casual employees who help in garbage collection. When we acquire the new tools, we anticipate that the number of employees will increase by five.
The vision of the business is to achieve a clean and green environment. To achieve this dream, most proceeds from the business are currently retained to assist in the business operations and expand the business. Currently, I am in the process of acquiring modern and safe waste collection tools and am looking for USD 249. With this fund, I expect the capacity of the business to expand and profit to grow by at least 20% per month. Later, I plan to diversify the business of waste recycling.
I am applying for this loan to acquire modern garbage collection tools for my business. We are currently using the simple garbage collection tools, which have exposed the garbage collection team to health risks as well as limited our garbage collection capacity. The loan will be used to acquire safely gadgets, antiseptic detergents and modern garbage handling equipment. The items are valued at USD 300. This loan will finance a third of the purchase cost. The proceeds from business will be used to pay the balance. These tools, I believe will enhance the capacity and financial performance which will enable me remit the weekly installments in time and pay the entire amount in time. I take this early opportunity to thank the lenders in advance for advancing this noble cause.

This is because waste collection and disposal was then purely the affair of the local authorities. I saw an opportunity in the environment and started a garbage collection and disposal business. Currently, the business operates at a cost of USD 900 and generates after tax profit of US400 on average per month. The business has three full time employees and 14 casual employees who help in garbage collection . The business is in the process of renting a new site for temporary storage of recyclable garbage. We need USD 400 for deposit payment. Through some savings from the business, I able to raise USD 160. I am looking for the remaining USD 240 through this loan. With this fund, the business will get space and will soon start recycling of wastes. In addition, the revenue generation of the business will grow by around 10%. I believe I will be able to repay the loan in time.
