I was born and raised around Nakuru town in the Rift Valley Province of Kenya. I have a degree in education from Moi university in Kenya.
After my college education, I could not get formal employment and had to work as a 'matatu ' driver ferrying passengers from one town to another for two years.
I used the little amount of money that I had saved plus some more which I was loaned by a relative to start my business.
My country, Kenya, has extraordinary beauty both in terms geography and contrasting cultures from 42 diverse tribes. It's a choice destination for many tourists from all over the world.
I have a son who wishes to take up my hobby in computers and software as his future professional job.
I have a cybercafe and small retail shop that deals in electronic accessories.
The cybercafe caters to the people who need fast internet services, especially for government services accessed through the internet, e.g., the e-citizen website.
The retail shop sells small accessories such as phone chargers and batteries to people on transit through the town. I like my business as it augments my hobby in computers.
On average, my monthly costs range from KSh 20,000 to KSh 30,000 while revenues range from KSh 40,000 to KSh 60,000. The proceeds from the ventures are used for household needs, school fees, investment and some for recreational activities.
With my next loan,I want to increase my inventory of mobile phones .I have noted that my customers need not only feature phones but also need medium quality android phones.
Thus with this loan I will introduce phones ranging from 50 usd to 70 Usd for those customers that my need them.Such customers desire higher internet speeds for their mobile phones and better build quality.Higher internet speed means phones with atleast 3g connectivity.
The phones I will be supplying will have these quality for my customers.
The most common brands used in Kenya today are tecno and infinix .Both are Chinese brands that produce phones with good specifications at very low prices.
I intend to increase my phone stock by about six new phones from these two brands.
