It was later to dawn to me that it would again take almost ten years waiting to be absorbed by the government. With the skills that I had acquired in Information Technology, I thought of switching to something different and the idea of self employment was born. During my stay I have been offering services and on producing online payslips for teachers, I have been disappointed since they are usually underpaid and id rather stay in business where I feel I do better than in the teaching profession. May be in future i will invest in education and think of managerial position in the teaching profession which is far much better than being just a classroom teacher. After graduation and no jobs coming by, I decided to start a simple business to earn income, I own a stall offering various accessories I own a desktop computer and have been offering computer typesetting services to my customers. I also design cards and do the printing. The business is so far doing well, however the operation cost is making profits go down, in side of printing, i dont have a reliable printer and the HP deskjet 2515 that I own is not reliable. This means that whenever I have bulk printing and photocopying, there is interuption to do some reffiling of ink and sometimes the catridges fail. Photocopying is my main source of income since atleast every day i make about USD5 in photocopies only.
I have observed that the cost of printing is high as most of the time my deskjet printer requires ink refil. I have done market research and realised the economical epson printers. I have settled on Epson L220 series after observing it work for somewhile. This printer can also print photos, cards as well as photocopy. The printer goes for USD 200, I am requesting zidisha to hep me towards its purchase. I will contribute the remaining amount after I get what you have given me chance to apply. With what I receive from zidisha, i have future plans and will work to build trust with the lenders for future engagements where I think is when I will get a considerable loan. I have a dream of expanding my business in the near future so as to empower my self economically.
