My name is Akosua Mansah. I am a Ghanaian. I was raised among all boys except my mom. I thus had a little formal education but not much. I at least had one that allows me to read and write. I basically did not continue my education due to financial difficulties on the side of my parents.
But it was my choice that I became a trader since I am naturally good at that. I started selling sachet water on the high streets of Bandah and later graduated to selling it on a retail basis. Bandah Nkwantah is a very busy place with diversity of people due to the commercial activities.
I sell or deal in sachet water but on a large scale. I buy about a hundred bags of sachet water with a hundred dollars. After sales, I will make 50% to 70% percent profit on the amount of money invested. I invest back into my business and live also on a percentage of it. I challenge myself every day with my business bearing in mind that hard work is what will produce the needed profits and sales. So I work from dawn to dusk.
i sell what we locally call pure water which is actually sachet water. if my loan is funded in full, i will use the entire amount to purchase bags of sachet water for sale. however, with the injection of this capital, some people can also come and purchase on small scale for resale.
As at now, one bag of sachet water cost some $2.5 and others also cost $4.00 depending on which one customers demand the most due to branding and quality. so i will use $150 to purchase the one that one bag cost $2.5 and then the remaining $150 will be used to purchase the one that a bag cost $4.00.
both varieties are in equal demand in my community. so in total, i will be getting up to about 300 bags of sachet water for sale and distribution.
i will be so happy that the people of my community will have clean and treated affordable drinking water to consume just through my little effort to expand my business. Then to myself, my profit margin will shoot up and that i will be making a profit of more than 40% of the invested $300. Then also everyday i will work so for sure , i will be able to repay the loan in full in the appointed time and date and as scheduled.
