I'm Esther Ihura, 23 years old. I was born, raised, and studied in Murang'a, Kenya. Upon finishing my high school, I joined a college and pursued Animal Health and Production course. I didn't manage to secure a job related to my field of study after a long search so I decided to broaden my job search. A friend of mine told me about freelancing, transcription specifically, and I liked the whole idea and decided to give it a try. She offered to give me some training and give me work after that. A family member lend me a laptop and a modem, and that's how I started my transcription journey. Since then, transcription has become part of me and has been my full time job.
Currently I do not have children, but I live on my own and pay my own bills through transcription.
As stated above, I am a freelancer, a transcriptionist to be specific. Transcription entails typing of recorded audios or videos into Ms Word. I get paid weekly through PayPal, and then wire transfer the dollars into my bank account. I chose to be a freelancer because it's a flexible job, and the pay is not fixed meaning one can earn as much money he/she wills in a given period of time since pay is determined by someone's effort. The more you work, the more money you make. This therefore makes it the best in raising capital to start other businesses, and also helps me manage my time well.
I use most of the profits as savings so I can invest in other types of business (s).
I'm aiming to buy my own laptop as I have been using a borrowed one. I have saved up some cash and this loan will boost me to raise the required amount needed for the laptop which is approximately $300. Having my own laptop will boost my job as I will have access to more work and more often. This will boost my profits from $60 a week to $100.
