I was born in rural community of Karachuonyo in Nyanza Province. I am a widow, survived with four children. My husband died in 1996 and I have been struggling to raise up my family on my own. My two sons are in High School. Since the death of my husband, I have lived a very hard life coupled with poverty due to lack of capital. I am an active member of Seventh Day Adventist and I like singing and participating in choir activities.
I started fish trading business in the year 2011 and since then it has been my source of income. I started with a capital of Ksh 3,000 and today I have a total of Ksh 7,000 that I use to trade on small fish business. If I get a loan of Ksh 8,000, then I will be able to have enough capital to trade profitably.
Friends and the Church have provided support at times of need.
I am engaged in purchasing and re-sale of fish. The fish trade business is doing very well in the shores of Lake Victoria and there's a huge demand for fresh fish in the neighborhood markets/communities. I received my 1st loan of KES 8,000 from ZIDISHA that enabled me to expand the business and increasing my weekly profit by 30%. I am seeking a further loan (2nd ZIDISHA Loan) of KES 21,000 to enable me increase my purchase of fresh fish for sale. The profit earned is being used to meet my food, rent and education costs for my children.
I am seeking my 2nd ZIDISHA loan of KES 21,260 to buy 500 Kgs of fresh fish for re-sale at increased price. ZIDISHA Lenders have helped me a lot to achieve financial independence. I look forward to repaying the loan on time and the increased profit will be used to support my children's education.
