I am Quinter Anyango, am the 6th born in a family of six. I was born in 1986 and being the last born, all my siblings are all grown up by now. My father died when I was 3 years old and my mother is a live. I did not continue with my education past primary education due to lack of school fee.
I got married at the age of 20 and our marriage has been blessed our marriage with 5 children, the 1st born is in grade 6 and the last born in pre-school. In our early days of marriage, life was very hard for me since my husband had limited income that could not sustain the family. Limited income to meet the ever-increasing family needs led me to start a small cereals selling business to get income to feed young family.I started this grocery business to bust our income to make us able to pay all our bills and use the rest to purchase food and household goods.
My hobbies is listening to lyrical music and reading of journals. In my free time I go around the village visiting and counseling with the sick in a peer group.
I am trading on vegetables like; kale, cabbages, spinach and fresh fruits (avocadoes, tomatoers, oranges, mangoes, pawpaw and peas). My business is doing very well since I started seven years ago,. I have built a very strong network of clients and many people chose my products as they are fresh and very cost-effective.
Many people like fresh on farm produce like; green vegetables, beans, pears, rice, groundnuts, tomatoes, dry fish and all kinds of grains in my food kiosk. My monthly cost of running the business is US$50 while Gross Profit or income before these expenses is usually approximately US$105.
I am seeking a loan of KES 9,526 in order to buy maize, beans, green grams, groundnuts and vegetables for sale in Mbita Market. My two loans from ZIDISHA in the past has served to improve my business stock and now I ma trading on cash with strong financial base unlike in the past when I did not have money to pay suppliers in tie as they supplied goods. I am grateful for ZIDISHA for their support.
