About Me

I was born in the late 90's during the time when education was not valued by people in my community. I come from the Borana community and we are settled in the northern part of Kenya. This is the part that is unique in Kenya because it is very dry and almost looks like a desert. We also border Ethiopia and we do a lot of businesses trading. Where i come from many people haven't gone to school and it is very rare to have students joining the university. Donkeys are available in cheap prices in our area and my father owns many of them. I took two donkeys which i started a business with. I realized that i have grown and i needed to depend on myself in life so i started business of selling water.

My Business

I do a business of selling water to people in their households and at construction sites. Water is very important and is useful because it is life. Water is used to do basically everything in our daily lives. I sell also to construction people who need water to build. Water is in high demand where i live because there is water shortages and problems having tapped water. This is why i chose this business. It is the most selling commodity in Northern Kenya. Water selling is the most profitable business here. I sell a 20 litres bottle at 0.5 us dollars. I usually carry four 20 litres bottles per donkey in one trip for one donkey and two for the other younger donkey. I use the income mainly as savings because i want to buy one donkey of my own and have three. I also use the money to take care of myself and pay for rent.

Loan Proposal

I have been saving to buy a donkey and now finally i have achieved my goal after five years of hard work. I need this loan in order to buy four 20 liters bottles worth 2.5 us dollars each and ropes together with back support which will both cost around 5 us dollars. I really appreciate this loan opportunity. This will enable me to get more money from the other donkey and make more savings so that i can buy another donkey in less than three years and i will repay the loan that i have.
