About Me

My name is Christine Nasambu and I was born on July 24, 1972 in Kakamega County, a town that has been in full growth in recent years. I have been married for several years, and my husband and I have four children, two boys and two girls. I have lived in Mbita Town near the District Commissioner's station for a long time and my business is close by. I have managed a food and beverage kiosk for several years and have built a strong connection with the clients who works at the District Offices.

My childhood was characterized with hardship as I grew up in poverty, my parents were unemployed and did not have sustainable income though were peasant farmers for the whole of their lives! I dropped from school at Form 2 when I was still a teenager and got married at a very young age. Since my husband was unemployed, I had to start the food vending business to ensure that the family has a sustainable income.

In my free time, I do sing and participate in Church activities.

My Business

In 2013, I started a small food kiosk to help supplement family income. I am in a very strategic area and the need for food is high though lack of capital impedes my effort to supply the market with fresh food and on-farm produce.

I like to see people fulfilled and meeting the food needs of the people is the cornerstone of happiness. My capital at the moment is Ksh 5,000 and I do make a profit of Ksh 2,000 per week which translate to Ksh 8,000 per month. If I get a loan of Ksh 9,130, I will be able to improve my food kiosk and attract more clients and increase my monthly profit by Ksh 6,000. I will use the profit to pay my 1st daughter high school fee and buy clothes for my children who lacks clothes to go to school at the moment.

Loan Proposal

This money will allow me to improve my kiosk to attract more customers and make more profits, and will also let me start selling drinks such as Fanta, Coca-Cola, Sprite, Yogurt and many other things. True, this first amount will be used for different things but it will achieve a lot. Thank you.
